silent auction items are all out and ready for bids. this is open to everyone...even if you can't or don't crop. stop at the front counter and pick up a bidding number. everyone will bid this year with a number instead of their name.
in our annual silent auction all of the money raised goes to barbara ann karamanos cancer center downtown at the detroit medical center. karamanos and the dmc are one of the 10 major cancer centers in the country and where i was treated for my breast cancer...more than 11 years ago now!!!! we auction past class samples, specially made projects from our teachers, scrapbook supplies etc. i just learned yesterday that caroline and deb from maya road have sent us a package of goodies to add to our auction!!! THANK YOU MAYA ROAD!!!!!
for those of you who are new to this. this weekend is scrap pink at paper tales. an 8 hour crop on friday, with food, chocolate, beverages, chocolate, food, goody bags, prizes and food. a 14 hour crop on saturday with food, chocolate, beverages, chocolate, goody bags, prizes, special sales, food. food is good!! it's a benefit for breast cancer. the scrap pink crop was started 3 years ago by scrapbooks etc magazine. a portion of each days crop fee goes to the susan g komen foundation for breast cancer.
and then there's the silent auction for some added fun. you may bid anytime before 10pm on saturday night...october 3rd. stop in a pick out some great holiday gifts and make a donation to karamanos at the same time.
